Following our announcement in May 2026 that all 74 Airbnb reviews across the two properties had received perfect scores, guests have continued to award us the highest rating. The streak has continued following the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake, bringing the total to 110 consecutive five-star reviews. Located approximately five minutes by car from TSMC’s Kumamoto plant, it caters to business travelers and is also well suited to colleagues traveling together, families visiting Aso, and groups of four on golf trips.

【Strengthening the Kumamoto Panda Base Brand’s Presence】

Based on our own research, the two properties described above achieve some of the highest levels of guest satisfaction in Kumamoto Prefecture, as reflected in reviews on Airbnb, Booking.com and Google Maps (*3). We attribute these results to our efforts to improve guest satisfaction by handling every stage of operations in-house, from property planning and reservations to cleaning and guest support during each stay.

In June 2026, we opened Kumamoto Panda Base Kengun, our third entire-home accommodation property, in Kengun, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City. Our brand now has three locations serving central Kumamoto, eastern Kumamoto City and the area around TSMC.

Following the earthquake, we provided free accommodation at Kumamoto Panda Base Shinmachi through our own initiative, hoping to help those affected in whatever small way we could. This experience showed us that a small, entire-home accommodation property can serve both as a base for travel and work and as a place that supports the local community.

The name “熊本熊猫基地” (Kumamoto Panda Kichi) combines “熊猫,” the Chinese word for “panda,” with “基地,” meaning “base”—a base for travel or work. It expresses our wish to offer guests from Japan and overseas a welcoming base in Kumamoto where they can stay with peace of mind, whether visiting for leisure or business.
